Last weekend my nephew came over from Oz to get married. We went to the Waikato where they wed high in the hills of Karapiro.
This is not the usual kind of layout I’d normally do, but I thought this might do as an album cover, or the first page of one. Of course I am a sook, so cried some. It was a fantastic event. Congratulations Darlings - Ben & Gina!
Was meant to fair hose down on the weekend, but the weather played along and stayed right in all the right places.
Thought you might like these. Thanks to Obsidian Dawn for the swirl brush. As usual click the pic to go get yours.

Really trying to make a concerted effort to do layouts this year. So far, so good, but we’ll see how it goes as the year goes by. Hope I can keep up with stuff. If not it’ll be just too bad.
I printed out a brag book for my mate & my daughter and they were SO chuffed! I’ll be making more of them for sure.

Got a nice write up in the Maori In Oz Panui 8th Edition for The Corner - thank you darlings! AND you’re welcome! Latest layouts:
made with mini-kit ‘The Brightness of My Dreams’ by July Designs
Sometimes you look at your kids and wonder ‘What are they thinking?’ As they get older you know they have secrets and they’ll probably tell you of them when they’re grown. This layout is from a Mother’s perspective.
Bkg paper ‘Waiting to Happen’ kit by mglscraps. My favourite pic of the boy.

I’ve got atopic excema on my hands, driving me nuts! Typing with two fingers, lol - everything going SOOOO slowly. Haven’t had excema since I was a kid - hope that doesn’t mean I’m into my second childhood.
Yeah, I’ve been at it again. This one’s from a kit called ‘New’ by DitaB.
This kit is really quite dainty and sparkly. You could emphasise the bling factor by using some sparkle brushes. I’d say this kit was about ‘refined’ bling. A couple of pics to see them in action:

you can check by DitaB’s blog to see what she’s got for you.

Generally I don’t win things. But I got $10 to spend at Eidou for this layout: January Swatch Challenge:
Was so rapt!
Credits:
Kit ‘Behind the reeds’ by Gwenn, Timette, Symphonie, Maue.
Kit ‘Valentin’ by Kubivet plus some stuff by me.
I am pretty sure Eidou is the FIRST New Zealand based digiscrap store. It is helmed by sweetie Louise Williams. So congratulations and kudos to the team at Eidou! Eidou is new, but already they are ranked #3 in Australia and #36 Worldwide for the ‘Top 50 Scrapbooking Stores’.
I said in some earlier post that I was making a bragbook for a friend, got them printed and was really pleased with the result. I don’t tend to print much stuff, but that will be changing…

Did a one kit call for ‘Lilysky Designs’ using her ‘Miss Tomboy’ kit. She required only one layout, but I did a couple:
My Tia was once quite rebellious, once upon a time. Really happy we survived it. We know our kids have their own lessons to learn, but that doesn’t make it any easier to have to watch and wait. In the end all you can do is … BE THERE.
I have plenty of work to do, but what do I do instead? Go about ‘ooh-ing’ and ‘ahhh-ing’ at the work of other designers. Of course I had to do a wee Brag Book, lol:

and the couple of pics to show it in context.
Swing by Lilysky’s blog - she’s a real sweetie! She’s looking for some Creative Team members!

Wow! January is gone! Can you believe it? Sometime earlier I told you I went on a serious download rampage for kits. Found a pack called ‘Kit Natural’ by Timounette. Just had to go make a Brag Book.

Here’s a couple with pics so you can see them in context. Making brag books this way is really good when you want a ‘themed’ collection. Glide by Timounette’s blog and see what she’s got.

I really like Brag Books because they’re really economical to print. At a 6″ x 4″ size they can cost less than 20 cents for each print, here in New Zealand. They’re nice and small too to carry about. Nice change from the groaning tomes on a coffee table.
I am secretly making a Brag Book for a friend who has not said it, but I think she has found LOVE! hehe. She is used to seeing me go about with my camera, but doesn’t know I do this kind of stuff (digiscrap). I’m hoping it will be a nice surprise.

This is the posting gift for my latest challenge, Window Frames and the blanks:
The challenge ends 31 Jan, so you’ve still got time! Click the pic to go see. I had to have a wee play around with them and decided to base my Project 365 - Week 3 on it:
I also got to thinking about Valentines Day coming up and did a Pre-Valentine layout without the hearts this time:
These show the frames in some kind of context.
